Welcome to Art Class with Mr. Krol

Art instruction at St. Mary of The Assumption School strives to encourage students to use their Critical Thinking skills to think through the process of creating their artwork. Students in upper grades are often given free reign to create works of their own individual themes and subject matter, and all projects focus on the "Elements of Art" and skills associated with that project. A yearly highlight of art instruction is the Art Tour that all students take through our own Church and Grounds during which we learn about different types of Art and the processes used to create them. We also focus on the reasons art has always been created: -To tell a story or teach a lesson -To express an emotion or evoke a response -To show the beauty and variety of God's creation
